Irene Pinkard
RETIRED COLLEGE ADMINISTRATOR/REALTOR
As a proven leader in the community, I will bring experience working with
the business community, educators, families and youth for over 35 years. I
will also bring a diversity of viewpoints for a diverse population that will
help our City to remain cohesive and safe with respect for differences that
makes Oxnard great. I am a realtor, church leader, homeowner, mother,
grandmother and active community leader who wants a City that provides
housing for all residents and adequate wages.
I am committed to building upon the successful policies and activities of
the present Council. When elected, I will continue to serve as a strong
leader and role model for our community and children.
EDUCATION and QUALIFICATIONS: Credentials include graduation from
CSULB with a B.S. in Business and M.S. in Counseling and a Doctoral Degree
in Higher Education/Educational Psychology from Nova University. Selected as
one of the 11 Remarkable Women in Ventura County in 2003 by the local
National Women’s Political Caucus.
EXPERIENCE: Served as president of the Ventura County Alcohol and
Drug Abuse Prevention Board, BAPAC, Onyx Club, Black Women’s Leadership
Conference, Vice President of the Oxnard Union High School District Board
and 1998 Woman of the Year for the 35th Assembly District. Selected as
Greater Oxnard Chamber Woman of the Year in 2003. Currently serves as
Pacific Coast Region Vice President of the National Black School Board
Members Association.
